Q: What is a launcher? A: A launcher is a software that causes applications to load and run. Launching an app is inherent in every operating system. We are going to make a launcher to improve your user-experience.
Q: What is this launcher going to have? A: We are going to have differents modules inside the launcher but you can envision it as a big application, if you please. We'll include a Braille keyboard, a Braille learning module, objects recognition, voice assistant, and we are going to add other modules as time goes by, with your help. Download it for free and give us your feedback!
Q: Where can I download and use it? A: You will be able to download it for free on the Android Play Store. In the future, we'll deal with iOS SO*. Download it for free and give us your feedback.
Q: What is SO? How can I know if I am able to use Brailling for my SO? A: SO is "System Operation." It's like Android, for example. If you have an Android smartphone, you will be able to download and try Brailling clicking here for free.
Q: Do I need to have an expensive mobile to use Brailling? A: No! And this is the most awesome part. We will improve the entire launcher for every Android mobile in the market.
Q: How can the user write in Braille? A: Brailling is going to have a Braille keyboard, for those who can't see. The blind users are going to have all the advantages to write faster, easier and with privacy.
Q: Where can I use the Braille keyboard? A: Wherever you wish to text. When someone writes in Braille, this is going to be automatically translated with the corresponding letter or number for the receiver in QWERTY.
Q: How does the Braille keyboard function? A: It's easy! To write a message, you must touch the screen, without lifting the finger, and feel the vibrations and sounds. You're going to recognize the different positions of the six circles in the Braille keyboard. With a few commands of Brailling, you can send the message, delete letters, words, write alphanumerics characters, emojis, whatever you can write with a simple QWERTY keyboard, but faster ;)
Q: How many opportunities and features does Brailling have for visually impaired people? A: A lot! We're going to give you privacy when you text so you won't have to worry about others hearing your audio files. You can write faster than before. You are going to be able to learn Braille in the pedagogical module, leveling up as you advance. You will be able to recognize different categories of objects and use the voice assistant to interact with the app.
Q: Why use braille instead voice messages? A: If you are able to see, you probably use voice messages, and that is ok, because we are not going to withdraw the voice function. Privacy is a very key value for the Braille keyboard, because you are going to have options when you write. You can text your partner, family, friends, colleagues at any time and google things up or download apps in a faster way, not like when using the regular QWERTY keyboard.
Q: Is the Brailling keyboard going to replace the QWERTY one? A: Yes, if you want so. We give you privacy when texting wherever you want. We've testes the Braille keyboard with a lot of users in our country and they said it is the most useful Braille keyboard they have found.
Q: How is Brailling's recognition module different from others? A: We are going to improve this module with time. We will use commons APIs* from the market, improving them and making an all-in-one application, with all the power of all the databases gathered. We will improve the categories for each user with AI*, making them useful and unique for every specific user.
Q: What is an 'API'? A: It is a set of clearly defined methods of communication between various software components, for example: we are going to use differents databases of images to improve the quality for our app.
Q: What is 'AI'? A: 'Artificial Intelligence', a branch of computer science dealing with the simulation of intelligent behavior in computers. We will use it once the launcher is completed, so we can improve the overall user-experience.
Q: Why are you going to create a new voice assistant? A: As you know, there are a lot of many voice assistants in the market, but anyone can be entire usefull for the blind user. We are going to use different APIs to improve them and we are going to work online and offline in most of the cases.
Q: Please, tell us more about the offline voice assistant A: We will make an offline voice assistant, which will work for our internal launcher's commands. With this, you will be able to open different modules inside our app.
Q: Do I need a special mobile or external hardware to use Brailling? A: No! We're improving Brailling every day so that everyone can easily use it with every Android mobile. We will work for iOS users later on.
Q: Does it drain all the battery? A: No. The mobile is going to vibrate in different modes and make a sound in some cases, for a better experience -you can manage this at the Settings section. We are going to control simple functions of your mobile, like the screen, light, vibrations, sounds, in a way so that we save the battery.
Q: Does Brailling have a native screen reader? A: No. You're going to use your regular screen reader, so you're familiar with it. You can disable it when you are using your mobile whenever you want. We are going to improve your native screen reader in the meantime.
Q: In how many languages is Brailling going to be? A: At first, in Spanish. We're from Argentina and we want to reach more countries in the future, so everyone can share this great experience. We're already thinking about English, Portuguese, German and Chinese translations.
Q: Is it going to be free for ever? A: At the begginnig, yes. You will be able to download Brailling and use it for free. We are working to get improvements and get better to satisfy your needs. We want to offer cheap services and offers for the users as well, so we're thinking on the Premium Brailling version, with more features. This is just a way for us to improve the launcher with your subscriptions and support.
Q: How much will the subscription cost? A: It'll be very cheap. You can try Brailling for free and, when the trial period is finished, you can pay a very, very low price to go on using it, allowing us to improve all the functionalities :)
Q: How can I give you my feedback to improve the app? A: You can send us an email at feedback@brailling.com.ar. You will be part of our community.
Q: Do I have an exclusive permission to be part of the community? A: Yes! If you help us with your feedback, you will be able to receive special offers in the future. You can send us an email at feedback@brailling.com.ar. You will be part of our community.
